Furniture Style & Placement
Selecting a furniture style requires a number of careful considerations: first it must create a look - formal or casual
or a style like tropical or nautical. Your decision affects all other items in the living room, which in turn reflects your home's architecture ... modern, period or antique.

A casual look in a formal room may look very out of place. In addition to the furniture style, size of the various pieces affects placement and in turn how many pieces will fit comfortably in the room.

Paint Color and Color Coordination

Furniture fabric colors also play a key role in the paint, carpet and other window treatment fabrics and accessories in the room. I try hard to an make an attractive fit between paint and the colors and styles found in the wallpaper, flooring, carpet and accessories.

Flooring Choices
The selection of tile, wood laminate, marble or any hard surface remains for the owner. I recommend that you choose the most practical flooring for your family's lifestyle. Tile is very
durable in a high traffic area. Wood can be a beautiful choice in low traffic areas - remembering it can get scratched fairly easily. Area rugs can be used to provide a conversation area and protect the hard wood floor. Care should be taken to coordinate its color to
other items in the room.

Window Treatments
Window style selection is determined by the theme of the room. Is privacy a prime consideration or it is to be purely decorative? Selection of fabric should also blend in to other items in the room.

Accessories
Accessories are the "jewelry" of any room. They highlight the theme you are trying to create. Example: a nautical theme might include boats or fishing gear. Accessories always bring out a room's colors and add finishing touches to enhance a room's charm.
